What time are the flights?

Our balloon flights are conducted at sunrise, all year round, weather depending. Our meeting time is generally 60 - 120 minutes before sunrise but the exact time is confirmed the evening prior to your flight.


Approximately times are as follows:


January          3:45am - 5:00am;

February         4:15am - 5:15am;

March             4:45am – 5:45am;

April             5:00am - 6:00 AEDST  /   4:00am - 5:00am AEDT;

May              4:30am  - 5:45am;

June             4:45am - 6:00am;

July             4:45am- 6:00am;

August -        4:15am -5:45am;

September -        3:45 am  – 4:45am;

October -        3:45am -  4:45am AEDT / 4:00 – 5:00 AEDST;

November -          3:45am – 5:00am;

December -        3:45am – 4:45am.


Keep in mind that these timings are a guideline only and exact flight meeting times will only be confirmed the evening before the flight. On rare occasions your exact meeting time may fall outside of these times if deemed necessary by the pilots.

How long is the flight?

Hunter Valley Ballooning flights are 45 - 60 minutes in duration but expect your entire mornings adventure to last around 3.5 - 4 hours.

What days are flights scheduled?

Our balloon flights are scheduled 7 days a week, all year round.

Is ballooning weather dependent?

Yes it is. We will not fly in weather conditions that may make flight unsafe or unpleasant such as strong wind, rain or fog. The evening prior to your flight you will be asked to call a check-in phone number to ascertain whether the next day's forecast is suitable for your flight to proceed.

What happens if the weather is not suitable for my flight?

If the weather is unsuitable for your flight you are able to reschedule anytime within the validity period of your Ticket or Gift Voucher. Tickets are generally valid for 36 months from the time of purchase. Gift Vouchers and Flight Vouchers are non-refundable but are transferable. Flexi Vouchers are generally refundable less a small admin fee.

Are there any fitness requirements to fly?

All passengers need to be reasonably fit and well with no significant knee, hip or back problems; have no recent surgeries or broken bones; do not weigh more than 140kg; are able to stand for one hour and are not currently pregnant.

Is there an age limit? Do you fly children?

We can fly children 7 years and older as long as they are taller than 120cm and meet the fit & well requirements listed above. There is no upper age limit.
